Riva Racing recently announced plans to release a 300+ horsepower Vortech Supercharger System for the Kawasaki STX-15F Jet Ski. The system is said to include all the necessary engine, pump and handling components to produce the “ultimate" 80-mph closed-course boat.
“We are providing the exact equipment that Team Kawasaki rider Chris MacClugage won the 2004 Pro Runabout World title with," said Dave Bambas, owner of Riva Racing. “Riva is working closely with Vortech Engineering to offer the same engine and pump package that proved to be unstoppable at the 2004 World Finals."
Thier release states that the craft will have a top speed of 80 mph, with peak horsepower being in the range of 300 to 320 horsepower at 8400 rpm, depending upon whether or not the customer goes with the optional cam shaft and exhaust extrude honing. The kit will feature a Vortech R-5 supercharger, while Riva's Power Cooler will serve as the intercooler. A race-mapped Mitsubishi ECU will manage the engine, while Riva Racing Forged pistons will replace stock. In the pump area, a Skat-Trak 160mm, eight-vein Magnum Pump will be outfitted along with a Skat-Trak impeller, while R&D Racing's intake grate and ride plate and Riva's Pro Series Sponsons will also be used. The kit will run on VP Racing Fuel's Jet X (MS109), and it will be released sometime in May of this year.
